Student Information

After students register using the form below they are the contacted by abe for a free phone lesson.after the phone talk each student is given a language level rating, a choice of class times and days,payment details and the students choice of topics for the month. Each class is one month long and 12 hours in total with three hours a week. Level one is for students who have had two years of language training. Level two are for students who have had more than two years of language training. For example if you had one year of english you would be a level one english language student. If you had two years of korean you would be a level two korean language student.

       Teacher Information

Many of our teachers are currently teaching in asia with years of experience in public school and english academies. They are college graduates who appreciate and respect asian cultures.a number of abe teachers are retired esl teachers with years of teaching experience.our teachers know the difference between kimchi,mandu,beijing duck and sushi. At your first phone meeting they will ask you what you want to focus on and will not make you follow a set lesson plan. If youre a german business man who will be in china for a month then an abe teacher might suggest you learn about the business culture and vocabulary used in beijing.to make this learning possible the abe native chinese teacher would know intermediate english and the same for the german business person.english would be the bridge langauge. If available a chinese native who knows german might be employed for this situation. After each lesson we ask that you send us an email detailing any feedback you might have regarding the quality of your lesson.a

What A Student Needs:

Abe uses a windows based website and instruction model. Students must know one of the windows operating systems which includes xp, vista and windows 7. A student should know how to perfect their computer audio settings. Each student should use one of three computer phone programs-a.yahoo messnger, b.windows messnger, c.skype. These three sorfware programs are free to download from the internet. Abe believes skype has the best audio quality. In addition students should have a quality headset. Also please remember your internet connection should be strong and wifi(wireless) cant be used with the abe system.

WHY ABE / Share A Lesson

ABE is a cooperative of teachers who believe that the traditional business model doesn’t deliver the best learning.Unlike a corporation we don’t have to increase our market share or profit margins to please a group of stockholders who care little about education.We are all teachers not corporate executives.The fees we receive from students are only used for website expenses,advertizing,a mangers salary and teachers pay.Our teachers are paid above the internet average because they are the best online language teachers. All of our classes are based on our Share- A -Lesson option.You may when you first pay for a class add a friend to the same class and you then can divide the 12 hours a month between you and your friend.You might take 7 hours and your friend might take 5 hours. You also may take the lesson together at the same place and time.This way you each get 12 hours and you share the teacher’s time together.You learn from your friend while you both are learning from the teacher.

Online is more flexible than a crowded classroom.you can choose the time which is convenient for you, the location of your choice, and the topics you need to know. You also avoid the distractions, noise, chatter, disruptive behavior which is common in a classroom. No more students who want to dominate the conversation nor the student who is almost asleep or is constantly talking with friends.

Also as a practical matter you won’t be out in the rain or windstorm on a hour long bus ride back home.

   Refunds

If after your second class but before your third class you are not pleased with your classes you can get a 80% refund of your classes by sending us an email stating your preferred method of payment. We must receive your email notice before your third class

  Cancelled Classes

If you need to reschedule a class you must do so 12 hours before your scheduled class. You must send this request to both abe and your teacher.if you don’t follow this 12 hour rule you loose the lesson with no refund.
