This exam prepares university graduates for study at an American college or university at the Masters degree or Phd level. Its a form of an admissions exam for advanced degrees. It has three parts-analytical writing,verbal reasoning and quantitative reasoning. A high score on the GRE can mean a fellowship to pay part of your educational expenses. If you want to increase your chances of a fellowship you might also want to take one of the GRE subject tests which measures your knowledge in the sciences,english literature,math,physics,computer science and psychology.
