ABE language teachers are native speakers with college degrees who have years of experience working as language teachers. Our teachers first must submit the ABE webform information sheet and then we schedule a phone interview with them. If their language skills are fine then we ask them to submit to ABE all their relevant documents including a copy of their degree,letters of recommendation and a work history. After these materials are reviewed we then ask them to sign a contract detailing their obligations to students and ABE. Next we place the teacher on a reserve list to match their language with a student who asks for that particular language.
Many of our teachers are currently teaching in Asia and Europe with years of experience in public schools and English academies.They are college graduates who appreciate and respect Asian and European cultures. Many ABE teachers are retired ESL teachers with years of teaching experience.

At your first phone meeting our teachers will ask you what you want to focus on and will not make you follow a set lesson plan. If you’re a Canadian businessperson who will be in Hong Kong for 6 months then an ABE teacher might suggest that you learn about the business culture and vocabulary used in Hong Kong. To make this learning possible the ABE native Cantonese teacher and the Canadian businessperson would both know intermediate English. English would be the Bridge Language to Cantonese. After each lesson we ask that you send us an email detailing any feedback you might have regarding the quality of your lesson. Our teachers work is reviewed after six months for a quality check and perhaps a promotion. Our teachers are motivated to be the best.
